- Established in 1972, Milcrofton Utility District was to provide water to local farmers and families in the Millview and Clovercroft communities.
- Milcrofton originally treated water from wells located within the District.
- In the early 1970’s – Williamson County outlined the water districts which today form Milcrofton Utility District, HB&TS Utility District, Mallory Valley Utility District, Nolensville College Grove Utility District, City of Franklin, City of Brentwood, and the City of Fairview all located within Williamson County.
- Harpeth Valley Utilities District supplies water to Milcrofton where it travels underground all the way from the Cumberland River in Nashville.
- From the Harpeth Valley Utilites District water plant to the first Milcrofton customer the water travels underground 20 miles.
- The water travels upwards of 26 miles from the water plant to the center of Milcrofton’s chartered service area.
- The service area of Milcrofton Utility District is 94.2 square miles.
- Milcrofton has over 330 miles of water mains to reach over 11,000 metered connections servicing a population over 32,000 people.
- Milcrofton was awarded in 2019 Award of Excellence for Medium Size Distribution System by the American Water Works Association (AWWA).
- Milcrofton was awarded in 2020 the Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award for Water Quality.
- Milcrofton has scored a 100% on our last three Sanitary Survey conducted by the State of Tennessee. We’ve averaged a 99% for the last decade in our Sanitary Survey scores.
- MOODY’S Investors Service rated Milcrofton Utility District in 2015 Tennessee revenue bonds to Aa2.
- Today – Milcrofton’s service crew manages the day to day maintenance operations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to provide safe potable drinking water to all its customers.
